Brooklyn Nets Selects LGBT Bar NY Foundation as 2024 Pride Night Nonprofit of the Night
The LGBT Bar Association Foundation of Greater New York to be recognized as Nonprofit of the Night at Brooklyn Nets Pride Night on April 6, 2024. The celebration will include a pregame on-court recognition ceremony, a halftime radio interview, a program information table, and nearly 100 seats of LGBT Bar NY community members cheering on the Nets against the Detroit Pistons.
“We are honored to be selected as the Pride Nonprofit of the Night.” said Executive Director Shain Filcher, Esq. “Since the height of the AIDS epidemic, our volunteer attorneys have generously donated their time and expertise to respond to the unique legal needs of the LGBTQ+ community. Over the past 35 years, the core issues impacting the NYC LGBTQ+ community may have changed, but our commitment to fighting for the safety, equality, and dignity of all LGBTQ+ people remains steadfast.”
The Nets Unite games are part of the Nets United platform and aspire to build unity across Brooklyn, as the Nets embrace, celebrate, and foster equity by amplifying the rich traditions of the community. Pride Night celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community during the final full month of the 2023-2024 regular season.
