Lawyer Referral
For assistance in finding a paid attorney to represent you, please visit our free legal clinic. There, you can meet with a volunteer attorney who will be able to provide legal referrals, but not direct representation.
The Clinic operates from 6:00–8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. Please arrive between 5:45 and 6:30 p.m. for intake.

Who runs the legal clinic?
- The LGBT Bar NY Foundation is pleased to provide a pro bono legal clinic devoted to serving the LGBTQ community of NYC.
What kind of help is offered?
- The clinic is staffed by volunteer attorneys who are available to provide general guidance and legal referrals, but not legal representation. Each visitor can expect to have a 15-20-minute consultation with our volunteer attorneys.
Do I need an appointment?
- No appointment is necessary, but you should arrive prior to 6:00 p.m. to ensure that you can be seen.
